Conference Theme: “Conflict and Compassion: Reclaiming Eden”
“It is easier for a feeble straw to resist a mighty fire than for the nature of sin to resist the power of love. We must cultivate this live in our souls, that we may take our place with all the saints, for they were all-pleasing unto God through their love for their neighbor.”
– St Elizabeth, the New Martyr (d. 1918, CE)
This year’s conference will be comprised of Orthodox Christian theology, Mennonite witness, Jewish and Muslim perspectives and opportunties to explore what peace-building actually entails. The first such event that has been held in Canada, we hope to have cross-fertilization of ideas between U.S. and Canadian members of the Fellowship, between Orthodox and non-Orthodox and between clergy and lay-people.
Speakers will include our international secretary Jim Forest, David Goa, director of the Ronning Centre for the Study of Religion and Public Life, University of Alberta, Ernie Regher of the Project Ploughshares, and several others.
The schedule below indicates starting and ending times. While we hope that as many as possible can join us for the entire time, we will make provisions, as best we can, for those whose schedules do not permit them to stay. See the registration form for fees and housing information.
Transportation information is being worked on; we will try to facilitate everyone getting to the conference venue with a minimum of inconvenience and expense. Let us know as early as possible your intention to attend, even if you are unsure. May God protect you as you travel!
Yours in Christ,
Alexander Patico, Secretary (North America)
